We went to the library this afternoon and came home with a TON of books. Nearly too many for my library tote. Which isn't unusual for me.
After all, they are books. And they are free. What's not to love? And what's to stop me from thinking This one looks good! and tossing it into my bursting at the seams bag?
Got books today on making paper books, on knitting, on decorating. On sewing, on Christmas, on vintage treasure hunting, on crafty making goodness.
I love the library.
(One of my first jobs ever was working--for free--at the library at Menwith Hill across the street from our house on base and upstairs from the BX and the Bop Shop and base bowling alley. I shelved books and stamped--yes, no computers!--those cards in the pockets with due dates and put on those plastic clear covers to protect dust jackets.)
This is the window box/seat in the family room--a perfect place to keep all of my library books so I always know where they are. This is actually not all of them, but most of them--because now that I think about it, there's a stack behind me on the couch that I've been flipping through this afternoon.
Where do you keep your library books?
