I mentioned a while back that the girls are sharing a room again. As we talked about this homeschool thing and what works well and what doesn't work so well, space is an issue.
For the bulk of this year, we've been doing school at the dining room table. It works. It's big and there's plenty of space to spread out. But it means getting everything out, putting it away. It meant that school stuff was in the living room (we have a living/dining room combo kind of a set up) and that school was always present.
We live in a small house. We have three bedrooms, a living/dining room, and a kitchen. Add the two bathrooms and that's it. There's not extra space.
The girls have shared a room in the past, but it's been a while. In San Diego, they shared a room in order to have a room set aside for play. And now they're sharing a room again--in order to have a room set aside for school.
I won't lie--it's had some challenges. They--like most kids, like most everyone actually--love being able to have something be all "MINE!" And sharing doesn't always come naturally. But for the most part, it's working well.
Here's a peek at THEIR room these days:
I'll get some pictures of the classroom up soon. But I just looked at the clock and need to leave for church in an hour. And I'm still in my jammies, eating breakfast as I type this. Gotta fly!
Have a terrific day!
