Four years of blogging

 

Today is the fourth birthday of The Simple Wife!

I started this blog to celebrate my 34th birthday, which means that tomorrow is my 38th birthday. It's also Kimberly's birthday. And Melissa's too. Happy early birthday, my birthday buddies!

I'm kinda sorta wondering just how many words I've written on this blog in the past four years. A lot. There's a huge archive if you're interested. 1,326 posts in all. I love to go back and see what we were doing and it's funny how often I can vividly remember what I wrote about and how I felt and where we were and all that jazz. 

How about a little then and now?

THEN: Living in San Diego by the beach
NOW: Living in Phoenix in the desert (after three years in Denver in the middle)

THEN: Collecting vintage postcards
NOW: Collecting vintage postcards

THEN: I loved Toben
NOW: I love Toben

THEN: Doing ballet each week to stay in shape
NOW: Running 5K just about every day

THEN: Girls in school
NOW: Homeschool mom

THEN: I was crafty ALL THE TIME
NOW: Not so much

THEN: Writing Living Simply
NOW: Writing The Lord Is My Shepherd: Hearing God's Voice in Psalm 23

THEN: I had worn the letters of the keys of my old Mac
NOW: E & N are almost gone, A,S,D,C, and M are getting faint

THEN: Toben was getting ready to buy me a car
NOW: Still driving the Brownie Bus (though I'd forgotten we'd almost named it Ellie)

THEN: There were definite boy jobs and girl jobs around our house
NOW: There still are, but we're getting more flexible

THEN: Felt like I was way too young to be 34
NOW: Feel like I'm way too young to be 38

thanks for the links from the past! i love the knitting.... i totally know i can go into your archive and read whatever from whenever but with my society-imposed ADD it seems like too much work
