I love oatmeal...so perfect on a cold winter morning.
To 1/2 cup quick oats, add:
diced dried pears
a handful of pecans
shredded coconut
or
dried cherries
a handful of pecans
shredded coconut
or
raisins
walnuts
a sprinkle of cinnamon
a spoonful or two of brown sugar
1 cup boiling water
Stir and let sit for a minute or two. Enjoy!
This looks yummy! And thanks for the movie recommendation. I went over to IMDB to check it out, and I am pretty sure I haven't seen Paris When It Sizzles... but it does sound like one I would love!

I love oatmeal, too. And grits. Yum.

I love the combinations - I would have never thought of coconut in oatmeal, but it sounds delicious - I will try this tomorrow morning. Thanks Joanne!

I heard on the radio a bit ago that oatmeal takes longer than anything else for the system to digest and so, as a long-lasting complex carb, keeps the seratonin pumping the longest and gives us that mellow feeling. Or, in me, that mellow, want to sleep after I eat a whole bunch more carbs feeling.

Question: Where do you get the dried pears, or do you dry them yourself? They were SOOOOO yummy in the scones!
