I'm feeling much better today as I was reminded in church this morning that "he who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion." So I don't need to have it all figured out in a year, or two, or ten. It's about the journey...and it's God who can do big things in me; I can't do it on my own. So the pressure's off.
We're going to watch the Rose Parade in the morning and write our Chrismtas thank you notes. That's what we always did in my family as I was growing up. I can remember sitting on the floor at the coffee table and writing notes to my grandmother and oohing and aahing over the flower-covered floats.
We're also going to write down our New Year's resolutions and put them in a time capsule. I finished a box of oatmeal this afternoon as I made cookies, and think we'll decorate it for our box. I have some cool vintage looking new year's paper that will work. Then each year we can look at the previous year's pages and add new ones.
And finally, look what I did this afternoon!
I checked out Doggy Knits from the library a month or so ago. There were some cute patterns, but nothing that was really Daisy. The most helpful thing was all the measurement information. So I measured Daisy and created a pattern and knitted it up today. And it turned out great. I'm a little amazed that it was as easy as it was.
Look how cute she looks...
She never really needed a sweater in SoCal, but she is getting old and it's a little chilly here. Now we can start taking our walks again. Or at least we will when some of the snow melts...
