Here are my sweet little girls, all ready for the first day of school this morning. Gran bought them new outfits for the first day--and they wanted to match. So cute!
They both came home happy and full of news of the day, so I'm feeling very relieved. Audrey's a little nervous about going back tomorrow, but I've assured her that we'll walk her directly to her classroom and she's feeling a bit better. Emma doesn't go back until Monday.
Toben and I met lots of nice parents at school this morning. It's interesting to look around and wonder who'll become our friends.
Mom, Dad, Kristen, and Ava all came for dinner tonight to celebrate the first day of school. I made carnitas--we're missing good Mexican food--a meal we always eat with Jim and Susan in Leucadia. It was fun to make it for everyone here, but made me wish that Jim and Susan were sitting around the table with us too.
Speaking of tables, I definitely need a new dining room table. The kitchen table we have is great--a 1910 oak Belgian pub table--but not nearly big enough for all the family we now have near. It's a good thing Ava's still in a high chair and that Wade's out of town on business. It was tight!

I still have a few years to go before my girls are off to school, but seeing your photos gives me butterflies - I know the time will fly. I love every day that I have with mine. I hope I don't ever take that for granted. Glad to hear that the first day went well for both of your girls.
