What is living simply?

  • Living simply is not so much about the particulars of our lives as much as it is about the principles that govern them. Knowing what God has called you to do, and then doing it--that's living simply.

I'm really sad to miss your dance recital. You look fabulous! You are fearless. I love that you have kept up with the dancing and that you share your joy of dress up with the world...

Hey girl! Your postings are quite often a highlight of my day! I love how I feel like I'm actually a close part of your day with your blog! You are such an amazing woman of God and I can't even begin to tell you how much I admire, respect and am energized by our friendship and all that you do in your life! :)

I had a wonderful (but too brief!) visit with your folks. It was SO special being able to introduce Auston to them...on their turf! Especially since he never met my mom! SO MANY MEMORIES came flooding back...espcially seeing YOUR BED!!!! Tory slept in it and it was awesome telling her our history of sleepovers (which she loves to do at age 4!) and all the momentos of England scattered in some serious square footage!!! Wow...we are the slums of Raleigh out here compared to the Friedenstein estate! It was fun to see it before their move! :)
Your folks haven't changed at all (which was so awesome since my dad has pretty well freaked out since my mom's death) and your dad read from the Bible to us after dinner and the kid's baths, etc. We were able to talk for a little while longer (uggh...hard to give the update on my dad, but they took it in stride and were wonderful!) and scan some photo albums... YIKES....England hair was quite scary!!!! What were we thinking?!? The 80's were hostile fashion days looking back on them now--neon, legwarmers, shoulder pads, spandex, crazy earrings--when we get right down to it! I do remember thinking we were so ENTIRELY cool in that 4th of July parade! Now I look at it and I'm feeling that to everyone else, we looked ENTIRELY pathetic--or clueless?! :)
Funny how time flies and our sensibilities do as well!
BUT I MISSED SEEING YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now we do truly have to plan a catch up time...let's get Cade a little bigger so that I can leave without worrying if there is enough milk for daddy, but I can't wait!!!!! I miss you, dear friend...congrats on finishing your book...your dad had brought home a copy for your mom to read. Too cool! Send my love to the girls and Toben. Have to get to know that mystery man someday!
Love and blessings across the US,
Heidi
